Having trouble establishing a Bluetooth connection on your Android cell phone? Was the Bluetooth on your phone working fine and now it won’t even show an available connection? Is your Bluetooth having pairing issues? Will your Bluetooth not even switch on? Here are some suggestions and tricks that you can use to get your Bluetooth back up and running properly again.
- Solution 1: Toggle the Bluetooth Connection. If the Bluetooth connection could not be established.
- From the found Bluetooth devices, select “Sennheiser MB Pro 1” or “Sennheiser MB Pro 2“ to pair the headset with the mobile phone. If necessary, enter the default PIN code “0000”. Page 14: Using The Headset.
Finding the proper solution
There are actually many things that can cause Bluetooth issues to occur on an Android smartphone and the fix that works for your phone is going to depend on what is actually causing your Bluetooth not to function properly.
This guide will start with the basics and provide troubleshooting that can be done to resolve the most common Bluetooth issues and will progress to more in-depth troubleshooting. So let’s start from the basics and go from there.
Power cycle
If your cell phone started to suddenly have Bluetooth issues unexpectedly and out of the blue then try simply powering your Android cell phone off, wait a minute (30-60 seconds), and then power the phone back on. Then try to establish a connection again and see if this simple trick helped to fix it. If not then proceed to the next suggestion.
Battery pull
Much like powering your cell phone off and then back on, another form of soft reset for an Android device is to remove the battery while the device is powered on. Wait about 30 seconds, plug the battery back in, power the phone on and see if the Bluetooth will connect.
Remember that not all cell phones are designed to have a removable battery. If your cell phone does not allow you to remove its battery then you can skip this portion of troubleshooting.
Clear the Cache
If your Bluetooth was connected and working properly and you tried to adjust a setting on the phone only to find that your Bluetooth stopped connecting or pairing correctly then this (or the next suggestion) should be exactly what you are looking for.
There might be a setting in your phone which is now preventing your Android’s Bluetooth from connecting to or even recognizing an available Bluetooth to sync to. So start by clearing the cache in your Bluetooth settings.
The method that you use to access the Bluetooth settings and clear its cache is going to depend on what make and model of cell phone you are currently using as well as what version of Android is currently installed on the device.
What you are going to need to locate is your phones “Application manager” or an option to “Manage applications”. This feature will let you view all of the applications installed on your phone and you will be able to locate your Bluetooth feature and its settings.
A common way to access this setting and clear the cache on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is to open the phones Settings, tap the More tab > tap Application manager > view ALL > Bluetooth share > tap Clear cache.
Note: “Bluetooth share” is a common name for the Bluetooth feature on an Android cell phone but if you cannot locate a “Bluetooth share” option then it might be labeled differently. Typically it will still have the word “Bluetooth” in its label.
Once you clear the cache, power cycle or restart your cell phone, try your Bluetooth and see if it’s working properly. If not then along with the cache try clearing your Bluetooth Data as well.
Clear the data
Before clearing the Bluetooth data make sure to record any important Bluetooth connections that you do not think you will be able to remember or setup again. This step in troubleshooting will tell your phone to make your Bluetooth feature start fresh and clean again and as such it will erase any current connections saved in your Bluetooth’s connection log/memory. This shouldn’t be a big issue as you will be able to simply re-connect to those Bluetooth connections when you need to use them again but I thought I would mention it for good measure.
To clear the Bluetooth app data it’s pretty much the same steps used when clearing its cache only instead of “Clear cache” you’re going to select the “Clear data” option. So open the phones Settings, tap the More tab > tap Application manager > view ALL > Bluetooth share > Clear data.
Once the Data is also cleared then restart the phone and enjoy your working Bluetooth. Don’t forget to let me know if this helped fix your cell phone by pressing the Facebook Like or Google + button(s) at the bottom of this article.
If for some reason your Bluetooth is still having trouble then keep reading for some additional suggestions. Download substance painter 2018 v1 0 for mac full crack.
Safe Mode
This issue with your Bluetooth might be the result of an application on your cell phone not playing nice with another application or conflicting with its software. To help rule out this scenario then you can try using your phone in Safe Mode.
Safe Mode allows the phone to run without any third party applications and can help you to locate apps that are causing mischief. If the phone runs properly while in Safe mode then it means that an app is in fact causing problems and you can start going through your recently installed or recently updated apps to locate the troublemaker. Just uninstall the app(s) that you believe might be the cause, reboot, test and if necessary repeat. Once you have found the app that’s causing problems you can re-install it, see if that helps, or simply keep it uninstalled and off of your phone.
Check the other device
Usually pairing the Bluetooth on your cell phone with another device is pretty straightforward and very user friendly. If you are still having difficulties pairing to another device then try and make sure to check that device to make sure that it is functioning properly. It may not be an issue with your phone but an issue with that other device.
So make sure that the other unit is setup correctly and that you are trying to pair your phone to that device properly. If by the off chance another phone can pair to that other device but your phone is still having issues then there can still be a problem with the software on your device (which the next section of this article should help solve) or a hardware issue where an actual piece of the phone is defective or malfunctioning in which case you will have to look into your repair or replacement options (which we’ll cover later in the article as well).
Hard reset
Performing a factory data reset is usually a last resort when troubleshooting as it erases all user data from the cell phone in question. It is however a very powerful troubleshooting tool as it removes everything from the phone which includes any viruses, software bugs or glitches, troublesome programs, bad apps, and also puts all of the phones settings back to factory default. So if there is something on the phone that’s causing problems and you can’t find what it is chances are a factory data reset can help you get rid of it.
If you are interested in learning more about factory resets then you can read more at Hard Resetting FAQs and if you have reached this point then you are going to want to make sure that you won’t lose anything important after performing a hard reset and you might find How to backup and reset and Android smartphone very helpful.

The arrival of Android Lollipop has seen a spike in in-car Bluetooth problems. Some of our own readers have emailed us all sorts of such problems across all spectrum of Android devices in almost any vehicle brands. Other forums have also tallied a similar situation so it’s not that difficult to conclude that the new Android OS has triggered the issue. But is Google, who developed Android, the only entity to blame for such fiasco?
Frankly, the same situation is repeated whenever Apple releases a major iOS update for their devices, which means that Bluetooth issues happen regardless of platform or device.

When it comes to resolving Bluetooth problems a shared responsibility between car manufacturers, operating system developers, and phone hardware makers must exist. In this regard, car makers are no less responsible for this trouble than Google, Apple, Samsung, and other phone manufacturers. Thus, it is not surprising to know that a fix can sometimes take several months to become available as concerned parties will need to work together first to be able to come up with a working solution.
In-vehicle Bluetooth problems
Before we proceed to some of the common issues and their solutions, you should understand that there are many Bluetooth protocols or standards (sometimes called profiles). Some of these standards are new additions to the core protocols established by trade organization Bluetooth SIG. Problems usually surface if a new tablet or phone uses a new standard that is not supported by, say, a 10-year old car.
Android phone is unable to sync messages and contacts to car via Bluetooth
More recent smart devices use the Phone Book Access Profile or PBAP or PBA for synching contacts of devices. If your in-car Bluetooth kit does not support this standard, you will realize that your phone or tablet may not be able to sync the address book with it. In this case, any incoming call will not display a recognized name or contact, nor display caller ID or image, among many others. If you have this problem, you have to contact your car manufacturer or the BT car kit maker for guidance.
Car stereo unable to play music stored in the phone via Bluetooth
In order to stream music via BT to your car stereo, both devices must the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile or A2DP. This protocol has been widely adapted because of its ability to automatically lower the music volume if there’s an incoming call. A2DP requires two pairings for both hands-free calling and for streaming music. While A2DP handles two important tasks, another protocol called Audio/Video Remote Control Profile governs the syncing of playback and metadata so a song’s track info, artists, etc are shown in your car stereo’s display.
Audio issues between BT devices are usually caused by software incompatibility so the best way to go is contact the car kit’s manufacturer or the car maker for help. But why contact them you ask?
Well, new smartphones and tablets usually call the shots in an ever-improving Bluetooth-enabled environment today so they are usually equipped with the latest BT profiles available. This is in contrast to your car’s BT system, which may be years behind. Most of the time, BT systems in older cars are a generation behind so when a new major operating system update is introduced to smart devices, previously working BT pairing suddenly stops. A brand new car you buy today is most probably designed a few years ago. Development cycles of in-vehicle BT systems are longer compared to your phone, which is usually not designed to work with older generation BT systems.
Also, some in-vehicle BT systems only supports Bluetooth audio and not phone calls. Remember, each of this function requires a different set of BT profile or protocol. The same is true for GPS functionality. Be sure to check with your vehicle support staff if your system supports all of the things you want.
Connecting Wireless Bluetooth To Computer
Android device unable to connect to your car’s Bluetooth
This is a common occurrence among car owners who uses Bluetooth technology constantly. This was rampant after Lollipop was released last year. Even now, we still get emails from our readers asking for support because their car kit suddenly stops connecting to their Android device. Again, the reason for this one boils down to compatibility issue which your car manufacturer or car kit maker must address.
Intermittent Bluetooth connectivity
If BT connection between your device and car frequently drops, you must take a look at hardware first. Loose wiring may cause the car kit to lose power momentarily so if there seems to be no pattern when connection drops occur, make sure that you physically check the car kit’s electrical links.
Wireless interference can also cause rare BT connection drops but new devices nowadays are equipped with technologies designed to limit them to bare minimum.
It’s almost impossible now for BT devices to suffer from wireless signal interference. Bluetooth signals of recent devices are considered relatively weak to cause significant interference. Most importantly, spread-spectrum frequency hopping is in place to force a device to switch between 70 randomly selected frequencies 1,600 times every second. The amazing speed of this process makes it highly unlikely that two BT devices will share the same frequency at any one time. And even if they do, it will only occur in a fraction of a second. On top of this popular technology, other hardware makers add other technology to continue lower the chance of interference from happening.
The ubiquity of Bluetooth technology in vehicles comes from its incredible potential to offer a wide range of functionality. Good vehicle designs should consider potential problems with using BT system to minimize interference. Today’s cars are packed with RF devices like GSM transceivers, GPS navigation kits, car stereo, among other electrical devices that can cause interference. Think of your car as moving metal can that reflects wireless signal inside almost all the time. Thanks to existing technologies in place, these signals do not cancel each other out.
